Suffolk – Dave Van de Velde – Charged

Dave Van de Velde has now been charged for attempting to groom a child for the purposes of sex.

Van de Velde traveled from his home address in Suffolk to Essex to pick up a young child for a weekend of sex. He intended picking the child up and letting him stay at his home.

He attended the agreed location and was met by officers from Essex Police who quickly took him into custody at Chelmsford Police Station.

When he attends Crown Court for his plea hearing, we will update you. If he should plead not guilty, we look forward to meeting him for the trial with our new media team.
